Jeff Abernathy | Owner & Operator
Jeff Abernathy owns and operates The Lighted Path LLC. A former Marine and retired Albuquerque Police Department officer with 25 years of service, Jeff founded The Lighted Path LLC with his wife, Mandi, in 2023. Formerly known as Seasons Therapy, their practice helps clients address challenges by promoting positive thinking and behavior through an informal, direct, compassionate, and strength-based approach.
Mandi Abernathy, MA, LPCC, Supervisor | Online Only
Mandi is the Clinical Director and therapist who works with individuals and couples. Her goal is to increase people’s daily functioning for optimal performance by challenging thought processes, re-frame cognition and focus, using REBT/CBT, Trauma Focused, Solutions Focused Therapy, Neuroscience, insight, problem solving, faith based (when requested) and exploring coping skills.
Mandi received her Masters in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University in 2013, and has been a licensed therapist in NM since 2014. She specializes in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, self confidence, and mood disorders. She enjoys working with those who want to improve their overall mental and physical health to be the best version and maintain this mindset.
Amy Smith, LCSW Therapist | In Person & Online
Amy Smith, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years of experience. Amy works with children, adolescents, teens, adults, and couples to address issues such as past and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment challenges, self-esteem concerns, relational difficulties, and suicidality. Rooted in the belief that healing begins with safety, connection, and self-awareness.
Amy partners with clients to foster meaningful change and promote lasting emotional wellness. She integrates a strengths-based perspective with evidence-based interventions, drawing from her training in EMDR, TF-CBT, ARC, CAMS, and DBT.

Julie Phillips, MSW, LCSW | Online Only
Julie Phillips is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and comes to The Lighted Path LLC with 7 years of knowledge, skill, and experience. Julie specializes in adults with Trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem & confidence, stress, life transitions, relationships, 1st responders utilizing telehealth. Julie believes positive change is achievable & possible. Together, you can explore the underlying reasons for feeling stuck, unmotivated, or triggered. With Julie’s support, you can regain a sense of self & even uncover something new.

Noel Simmons MSW, LCSW | Online Only
Noel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been practicing for 7 years. Noel’s approach is heart centered, integrating the body, mind and spirit. She believes change occurs ‘little-by-slowly’, and that we must take the time to honor minute changes in order for the more momentous changes to occur―whatever they may be. Noel’s practice is trauma informed, incorporating Mindful Self-Compassion, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Poly-Vagal practices and intuitive healing energy work (in no particular order). Noel is available for individual therapy sessions.

Rachel Rascon, MS, LMHC | In-Person & Online
Rachel received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Southwest. She has over ten years of experience working with individuals in crisis and who have experienced trauma. She also has experience working with youth and children. She believes self-growth, healing, and change, can occur through therapeutic experience. Rachel is scheduling through telehealth and in-person with kids, adolescents, individuals and couples counseling.

Angelika Van Grinsven, MA, LPCC | In-person ONly
Angelika is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who brings a warm, knowledgeable, and direct approach to healing. She graduated from Regent University with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master’s Certificate in Trauma Counseling. She is trained in EMDR, is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and has additional training in dissociative disorders, addiction, relational trauma, and IFS concepts. She is also completing her PhD dissertation.
Angelika understands that trauma—whether medical, relational, abusive, or caused by natural disasters—affects every part of life. She combines practical coping skills with deeper trauma healing to help clients explore their past and build strength in the present. Her experience includes Domestic Violence, Substance Use, complex or developmental PTSD, LGBTQAI+ concerns, Depression, Anxiety, Dissociation, DID, suicide concerns, and military-related issues.
She believes that once trauma is healed, clients can move through life with more freedom, confidence, and clarity. If you want more than talk therapy and are seeking real progress with a therapist who is direct, caring, and highly skilled, Angelika may be the right fit for you. Francine Adair, MS, LCSW | In-Person & Online
Francine Adair is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University. With experience as a school social worker, behavior management specialist, and CYFD investigator, she brings extensive knowledge and compassion to her practice.
As a mother of four, Francine understands the challenges families face and has personal insight into conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She is also deeply committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
Francine works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, using approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, play therapy, DBT, and gender-affirming practices. She is passionate about helping families and couples improve communication and believes there are no “bad” parents—only parents learning new tools to connect and grow together.

Justin Anderson | Online Only
Justin is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with a passion for helping individuals unlock their potential and achieve lasting change. With extensive training in clinical hypnotherapy, Justin specializes in stress management, anxiety reduction, habit control, fears and phobias, smoking cessation, and building self-confidence.
Through compassionate care and effective therapeutic techniques, Justin designs personalized, organically tailored sessions to meet each client’s unique needs.
